Help and support lines, for when the problem is the playing
If gambling is hurting you or someone close to you, call the National Responsible Gambling Programme on 0800 006 008, free and open 24 hours, or message it on WhatsApp at 076 675 0710. If you are thinking about harming yourself, call the SADAG crisis line on 0800 567 567 now.
A complaint about money that has gone can be the first sign that the playing itself needs attention. This page is for that moment.

Who to contact, and how
The NRGP line offers counselling, assessment and referral to treatment. SARGF says its services are free: after an assessment, people with a gambling problem can have a course of outpatient counselling sessions, and family members can get support as well. SARGF treatment page · checked 9 Oct 2026

Springbok's own limits and self-exclusion
Springbok's responsible gaming page says two brakes are available by contacting its support team: daily or monthly deposit limits, and self-exclusion for a period you choose, with a minimum of one month. Springbok responsible gaming page · checked 9 Oct 2026
Ask by live chat or help@springbokcasino.co.za, in writing, just as you would raise a dispute, so you hold a dated record of the request. If a limit or an exclusion is not applied as you asked, that is a complaint in its own right, and Springbok's guidelines give responsible-gambling complaints the faster acknowledgement target of 2 business days. This step-by-step self-exclusion guide walks through the request.
Signs the complaint is about more than money
- You are disputing losses you would rather not add up
- You keep playing the balance while a dispute is open, hoping to win it back
- You have borrowed, or used money meant for bills, to keep playing
- You feel irritable or low when you cannot play, or hide how much you play
- The gap between deposits keeps getting shorter
One sign alone proves nothing, but two or three together are worth a call to the NRGP line. Its own reminder is a fair test before any session: “Winners know when to stop”.
Budget habits that keep play in proportion
- Decide the amount before you open the lobby and treat it as spent, like the price of a show.
- Keep gambling money apart from rent, school fees and food money.
- Set a time limit as well as a money limit, and stop when either one runs out.
- Never chase. A loss is what the entertainment cost, not a debt to win back.
- Take a break after a big win as well as after a loss.
If someone close to you is struggling
Family members can call the NRGP line too; SARGF says support is open to them. Talk about specific events rather than labels, avoid paying off gambling debts for the person, and protect your own finances first. You do not need their agreement to ask for help for yourself.
